On Thursday, November 20, 2025, First Senior Center of Georgia (FSCofGA) had the honor of welcoming two distinguished guests from Gwinnett County to its Thanksgiving celebration: Ms. Nicole Love Hendrickson, Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County, and Mr. Kirkland Carden, Gwinnett County District 1 Commissioner.


The presence of these senior county leaders was not only an honor, but also a powerful testament to the credibility, impact, and positive contributions that First Senior Center has made to the community—especially to the Vietnamese senior community in Georgia.
Remarks from Gwinnett County Leaders
During her speech at the event, Ms. Nicole Love Hendrickson expressed her great pleasure at being part of the Thanksgiving celebration. She extended warm wishes to all the senior guests, hoping they enjoy a joyful and happy Thanksgiving. Ms. Hendrickson also acknowledged that FSCofGA has done an excellent job maintaining a high-quality senior care facility, bringing cultural diversity and a healthy senior community to Gwinnett County. On behalf of the county government, she pledged to continue supporting and partnering with FSCofGA in the years ahead.

Following her, Mr. Kirkland Carden, Commissioner for District 1, also shared his delight at attending and visiting FSC with the seniors. He praised the Center’s efforts in building and assisting the senior community in Gwinnett, noting how FSC has worked hard to foster a healthy and caring environment for older adults. Mr. Carden also expressed gratitude for the staff and volunteers who prepare daily meals, recognizing their important contribution to the well-being of the seniors.

Through its wide range of support services — from its food pantry, healthcare assistance, and benefits counseling, to creating a space for connection, compassion, and emotional healing — First Senior Center has been improving the quality of life for thousands of seniors each day. Today, those quiet yet tireless efforts have been recognized, honored, and further amplified.
This was more than just a visit — it marked an important milestone, affirming that First Senior Center of Georgia not only serves the community, but also creates meaningful, positive impact that is trusted and recognized by local authorities.
