On <\/span>Friday<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>July 18<\/span><\/strong>, at\u00a0<\/span>11:30 a.m.<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>First Senior Center of Georgia<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(FSCofGA) will host a dynamic ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the addition of three new doors to their food bank facility in Norcross.\u00a0 The celebration will feature remarks from\u00a0<\/span>Gwinnet County District Five Commissioner Carden Kirkland<\/span><\/strong>, and\u00a0<\/span>Colliers Facility Solutions Senior Property Manager Dori Bellina.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The three doors, generously donated and installed by\u00a0<\/span>Collier Facility Solutions<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Graphite Construction Company<\/span><\/strong>, have each been dubbed with a name signifying FSCofGA\u2019s dedicated service to Atlanta\u2019s elderly Vietnamese community. They are called, respectively, \u201c<\/span>Opening Hope<\/span><\/strong>,\u201d \u201c<\/span>Connecting Love<\/span><\/strong>,\u201d and \u201c<\/span>Stepping into the Future.<\/span><\/strong>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FSCofGA Founder and CEO\u00a0<\/span>Von Tran<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0says the installation of these three door<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>represents more than just routine maintenance,\u00a0\u201cSome might think, ‘Doors? Why such a fuss?’ But these doors represent so much more than just an entrance. They symbolize First Senior Center of Georgia\u2019s commitment to our seniors and to our community.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Graphite Construction Company contributed $1,500, while Colliers donated $3,500 to the project. Colliers Management was specifically recognized for their significant contribution in fully funding the essential upgrade, which included the installation of the new doors.
\nColliers has been a long-time supporter of the First Senior Center of Georgia and its mission to serve Vietnamese-American seniors in the Atlanta area. FSCofGA acts as a vital community hub, providing seniors with activities, social connections, and monthly food assistance. According to Von Tran, CEO of FSCofGA, the generosity of private entities and philanthropic services exemplifies how organizations can “join forces to strengthen the social safety net of our community.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The second largest in the state of Georgia, FSCofGA\u2019s food bank has become a lifeline to low-income Vietnamese seniors, serving over <\/span>3,200<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0households a month. In addition to its food bank, FSCofGA provides numerous additional services to low-income Vietnamese seniors and their families, including\u00a0<\/span>language support<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>food pantry assistance<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span>\u00a0benefits enrollment aid<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>senior wellness programs<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>affordable housing support<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>end-of-life care<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>transportation<\/span><\/strong>, and\u00a0<\/span>crisis management<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
