Norcross, GA – On April 7 at 11 a.m., First Senior Center of Georgia (FSCofGA) hosted a culturally significant event in honor of the Hung Kings’ Festival, a traditional celebration in Vietnam. This fest ival takes place on the 10th day of the third lunar month each year and serves to commemorate and pay tribute to the Hung Kings, who are considered the ancestors of the Vietnamese nation and the founders of the Van Lang state. “Every Vietnamese person, no matter where they live, needs to have an understanding of their country’s culture and history.”
Before coming to the United States, he participated in many traditional ceremonies and rituals. After settling here, he has remained actively engaged with the senior community at First Senior Center, volunteering to guide cultural practices and help younger generations understand and appreciate their roots.
FSCofGA continues its mission of preserving traditional Vietnamese culture and ensuring that history is not forgotten. Through events like the Hung Kings’ Festival, future generations of children and grandchildren born in the United States are given the opportunity to experience and embrace their cultural heritage.
